Daily Vinyl Care
Basic vinyl upkeep will help to ensure that your floors consistently look their best. Here's a few tips and best practices for maintaining your vinyl floors.
The key to vinyl maintenance is sweeping. By investing in a broom and putting it to work on daily basis, you can help to actively remove dirt, dust, and other debris that are present. Said debris can scratch your floors and give them an overall grungy look. You may also elect to mop your floors periodically too. When doing so, be wary of using too water as it could harm your vinyl floors and the subflooring beneath.
We also recommend placing mats at the entrances of your home and encouraging guests to remove their shoes. The less tracked in from the outside, the better chance your vinyl floors have of aging well.
Preventative
For daily upkeep, sweep, dust mop or use a manufacturer approved vacuum cleaner without a beater bar. Doing so will ensure that your vinyl floors age well over time. How often you complete these tasks is dependent on the amount of foot traffic the room receives.
Spills & Stains
For the common household spills, wipe the mess up with a towel. So long as you address spills quickly, they should cause any damage to your vinyl floors. If you're unsure how to remove a spill or mess, consult your manfacturer.
Furniture Pads
Furniture pads may be used beneath your heavy furniture to ensure that your floors are not scratched. These pads are inexpensive, but can make a huge difference.
